INNOVATION/DESIGN TO FOUR-STROKE ENGINE
On the third post I tried to discuss innovations that exist on a four-step Desmodromic valveIn the traditional system the valve spring , the valve opening is driven by the camshaft ( or rocker arm which is also driven by the camshaft lobe and below the piston position , piston rose during the spring / spring- pressed valve that closes this method, however, the drawback is that the spring can not compensate when it reaches the RPM high , so that when the valve is not time to close , already hit by the piston , the valve can lead to discouragement .To solve it , develop them in a system that is pneumatic valve , desmodromic valve using , the pneumatic valve , the valve is closed by high gas pressure . Nitrogen gas is used , because it is not so sensitive to temperature than oxygen . And the pressure exerted approximately 100 psi .Because of its nearly constant pressure so that tends to overcome the drawbacks per wear . The application is only used in the pneumatic circuit and can not be applied in the street bike . The pressure in each valve on each cylinder must be equal . If not , one of the cylinder valve is able to hit back by the piston .In making desmodromic valve system is very expensive to be mass produced , so the system is only used by the DUCATI .
