MOTORCYCLE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT : TRANSISTOR
In this fourth article I will discuss one of the electrical components of the motorcycle transistors, as we have seen briefly transistor electronic component that can stream or decide large current flow to the control of electric current is relatively very small, by changing the resistance trajectory, Hmmm. for the full article .. please read on this blog article. The
transistor is short for transfer resistor , or an electronic component
that can stream or decide large current flow to the control of electric
current is relatively very small , by changing the resistance
trajectory. His ability is almost the same as the relay , but it has advantages such as transistors , namely :a. Flow control in the transistor is much smaller , making them easier to control .b . Transistors are not using a mechanical contact , so it does not cause a spark and more durable .c . Relatively smaller transistor sizes and compact than the relay .d . Can work on the working voltage varies .However, in addition to having the advantages , the transistor also has some disadvantages , among others :a. Error foot transistor connection will result in permanent damage .b . The heat generated in the larger transistor so if not given sufficient cooling , it will shorten the life of the transistor .There are two types of transistors , namely :a. type NPNb . type PNP

Figure 1. Transistors and symbols (E = emitter, B = base / gate, C = collector) |
To determine whether a transistor is NPN or PNP can not physically . We can see from the code and match it with transistors handbook . In
the transistor current flow lsitrik there are two , namely the flow of
foot Base to Emitter ( or vice versa ) is IB - E and the current flowing
from the collector to the emitter ( or vice versa ) is IC - E .Application / implementation of the transistors in the electrical system is widely used as electronic switches . The
workings of transistors in brief is this: if there is a trigger current
( small current ) flowing from the base to the emitter current will
flow from the great collector to emitter ( for NPN ) or if there is a
trigger current ( small current ) from the Emitter to Base , then a large current will flow from the emitter to the collector ( for type PNP ).
Sample Application transistors on MotorcyclesApplication / use of transistors on a motorcycle electrical system can be found in a series of semi- transistor ignition system and full transistor , a system that uses a turn signal flasher transistor , charging system that uses electronic voltage regulation , and so on . Figure 2 . below shows the application of transistors on a full transistor ignition system motorcycle : if the terminal TR2 base gets a signal from the pick -up coil , the current flowing through R will tend to the masses through terminal C to terminal E TR2 . As a result there is no current basis so that TR1 TR1 will be OFF , so that the flow in the primary coil ignition coil ( ignition coil ) will be disconnected and will be induced in the second coil of the ignition coil . The occurrence of the induction generate sparks at the spark plug.
